011725 povertyThe U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has designated January as “Poverty Awareness Month,” focusing on poverty in the nation.

According to the U.S. Census, 12.8% of North Carolinians live in poverty. The national poverty line for a family of four in America is $31,200.
